Our Initiatives

At Karson’s Kompassion Project we seek to meet the needs of those in the shadows both internationally and in our back yard.

Because the people of Eswatini (Swaziland) stole Karson’s heart we look to give back to the people there. Ways that we have helped to improve the situation in the community of Nsoko is by building nine shade structures, building two playgrounds, home visits to members of the community, funding of a computer lab for a community center, repairs to cook shelters, and more. Projects including a large scale sewing project and potential sewing room at the community center are on our hope-to-do list.

We will also lead a team of volunteers annually to pour into the lives of the Swazi people. Those who have made the trip have all come home a better, changed person.

Giving back locally looks many different ways. We look to partner with other local non-profits to help share resources when/where we can. We have distributed over 5,000 stuffed animals to law enforcement to give to kids they encounter in crisis. We support our local educators by financially backing teacher’s project based fundraising efforts, providing wish list items, and more.

Our annual day of service is called Kommunity Kare Day. This is held every February on the Sunday closest to Karson’s birthday. For KKDay we partner with local organizations, finding small ways we can help to meet the needs of those who may need to be reminded that they are loved.

Bringing smiles to the faces of foster children is an effort that we strongly believe in. Because of this, we have launched the Fostering Smiles initiative. Fostering Smiles is a ministry that provides a welcome kit to children as they enter the foster care system. Items in the welcome kit are specifically geared to give the child a reason to smile on what is likely one of the hardest times of their life.
